Kitchen Design Newcastle NSW

Kitchen Design Newcastle
Design & Build, One Fixed Price

Layout planning, materials and a 3D render before any work starts, all included with your kitchen renovation quote across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Maitland.

Kitchen Design for Newcastle Homes

Good kitchen design starts with how you actually cook, entertain and move through the room, not with a catalogue. For a kitchen designer in Newcastle, the brief is usually shaped by the house itself: compact kitchens in older terraces and cottages, closed-off layouts that want to open to the living area, and coastal homes that need finishes able to cope with humidity. Whether you want modern kitchen design or something sympathetic to a heritage home, the layout comes first.

Our kitchen design consultation begins with a free in-home measure-up and design brief. We then prepare layout options and a 3D render so you can see the kitchen before it is built, followed by an itemised fixed-price quote based on the final design.

Design is part of every renovation quote. If you only need drawings, tell us when you enquire.

Kitchen Layouts We Design

🍳

Galley & Narrow Kitchens

Two parallel runs or a single wall in a tight footprint. Smart storage, full-height cabinetry and clear walkways make small kitchens work harder.

📐

L-Shaped Kitchens

A flexible layout that suits many homes, using a corner efficiently and leaving room for a table or island.

🔲

U-Shaped Kitchens

Three runs of cabinetry around the cook for maximum bench and storage space in a medium to large room.

🏡

Open Plan Kitchens

Opening the kitchen to the living area for light, flow and entertaining. Any structural changes are scoped and priced up front.

🪑

Island Benches

An island bench adds prep space, seating and storage where the room has the clearance to support it.

🥫

Butler’s & Walk-In Pantries

A concealed prep area or walk-in pantry keeps clutter and small appliances out of sight and adds storage.

Kitchen Benchtops & Finishes

💎

Porcelain & Sintered Stone Benchtops

Non-porous, heat and scratch resistant, in stone and concrete looks. A popular alternative now that engineered stone is banned.

🏔️

Natural Stone

Granite, marble and quartzite bring natural variation. Some stones need regular sealing.

🧱

Laminate & Compact Laminate

Budget-friendly with a wide colour range and slim modern edge profiles.

🌳

Timber

Warm and repairable, best kept away from the sink and cooktop, and it needs regular maintenance.

Engineered stone has been banned in Australia since 1 July 2024, so we do not specify it.

Kitchen Design FAQs

Do you offer a kitchen design consultation?

Yes. Every project starts with a free in-home consultation and measure-up, where we talk through how you use your kitchen, your budget and your style, then prepare layout options and a 3D render.

Is kitchen design included in the renovation price?

Design is part of every renovation quote, including a 3D render. Your itemised fixed-price quote is based on the final design. If you only need drawings, tell us when you enquire.

How do I choose between a galley, L-shaped, U-shaped or open plan layout?

The right layout depends on the size of the room, the position of doors and windows and whether walls can move. As a rule, galley layouts suit narrow rooms, L-shapes make use of corners, U-shapes need more width, and open plan needs the wall between kitchen and living area to be removable. We test options against your room during the design stage.

What benchtop should I choose now that engineered stone is banned?

Engineered stone has been banned in Australia since 1 July 2024. Porcelain, sintered stone, natural stone, laminate and timber are the common alternatives, and the best choice depends on budget, maintenance and look. See our kitchen renovation FAQs and cost guide for more. If you want cabinetry made to fit your room, see custom kitchens; for a lighter update, see a kitchen refresh.
